Inside P4W — July 2023

In July of 2023, Senator Kim Pate visited the Prison for Women (P4W) at 40 Sir John A. Macdonald Blvd., Kingston with her students. A longtime advocate of decarceration and abolition, Senator Pate was instrumental in bringing attention to numerous human rights violations inside P4W.  As Executive Director of the Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies (CAEFS) from 1992 until 2016, she was part of collective efforts leading to P4W’s closure in 2000.
